Dig Out of Prison is a laid-back puzzle game where you play as an innocent guy stuck in jail, hell-bent on escaping. The only tool you have in your cell is a spoon, which you’ll use to dig tunnels underneath. Discover hidden treasures, trade with other inmates and guards, and swap prison currency like toilet paper for upgrades. To survive, you need to be clever and keep a low profile, because only the craftiest prisoners make it out.
How to Play Dig Out of Prison
You’re an innocent person who’s been wrongly convicted. You just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Not long ago, your life was pretty normal. You never thought it could all go so wrong.
It all began when you went for a stroll and accidentally found yourself at a crime scene. Then you made a huge mistake: you touched the gun. The police decided you were guilty and arrested you right there. The trial was quick. Nobody cared that you were innocent. They sentenced you to life in prison.
Now you’re behind bars, but you’re not going to just sit here and waste away. You’re planning your escape.
How to Dig Your Way Out
Lift the carpet and start digging to uncover hidden items. Before the guard arrives, make sure to cover everything back up by putting the carpet in place, flushing the dirt down the toilet, and hiding the spoon under the bed.
Put the items you’ve found on the bench so you can sell them. Sell those items to the guard to earn some cash, then use that cash to buy upgrades from other inmates when the guard isn’t watching.
Use your money in your cell to regain energy, and sleep at night to wrap up the day.
If the guard catches you digging, you’ll be in hot water. You can dodge punishment by watching an ad or you can give up and lose all your progress.
Controls
WASD = move
Space = jump, rope (underground)
Left mouse = dig ground / pick up resources
E = interact with garage elements
X = extra action (where available)
Q = open menu.
